Erotica – a chilli with both shape and flavour
What makes Erotica special
Erotica is a chilli variety that stands out – quite literally! With its unique, often somewhat daring pod shapes and a really good, fruity flavour, this is one of the most entertaining chilli varieties to grow. But don’t be fooled by the playful looks – it also has a surprisingly good heat.
Background and name
The name ‘Erotica’ comes from the unusual shapes the pods take – sometimes associated with mildly erotic forms, which makes the variety a favourite in humorous growing projects and as a conversation starter. The variety has roots in the Capsicum baccatum family and was developed by hobby growers.
Appearance and growth habit
The plants reach 90–120 cm with a bushy habit. The pods are 4–7 cm long, often chubby and with varying curvy looks. The colour ripens from green to warm orange or red. A very productive variety!

Flavour and uses
