Multicolored Jalapeno F1 – a jalapeño with colour and flavour
What makes Multicolored Jalapeno F1 special
Multicolored Jalapeno F1 is a beautiful, fast-growing hybrid that gives a visual explosion of colours and masses of fruit. It is as lovely to look at as it is to cook with. Perfect for hobby growers who want to combine a practical harvest with decorative plants.
Background and name
This is an F1 hybrid bred to combine the classic traits of the jalapeño with more colour stages and increased productivity. The pods ripen through several colours – from green to purple, orange and red – which makes it an exciting addition to the garden.
Appearance and growth habit
The plant grows about 60–80 cm tall and is very bushy. The pods are 4-5 cm long and somewhat smaller in shape than typical for a jalapeño, but vary in colour during ripening, which makes the plant both useful and ornamental.
Estimated Scoville heat
Approx. 5,000 – 10,000 SHU
Flavour and uses
The flavour is clearly jalapeño: fruity with a mild to medium heat. Well suited to fresh use, pickles or grilling. Also works excellently for jalapeño poppers thanks to its wall thickness.
If you prefer a darker jalapeño with clearer purple colour and a more classic format, Jalapeno Purple is a good alternative.

How to grow Multicolored Jalapeno F1
Multicolored Jalapeno F1 belongs to Capsicum annuum. Sow your chilli seeds between February and April. This variety grows fast and is easy to succeed with in both pots and the open ground. It produces generously even in northern climates with good sun exposure.
The price is for 6 chilli seeds
Sow in moist seed compost and keep warm, at about 25–30°C for best germination The compost should be moist but not wet. A propagator helps to keep the air humid. Once the seedlings have grown a little and developed their second pair of leaves, you can lower the temperature to about 20°C and take them out of the propagator. They do well on a sunny windowsill, in a greenhouse and outdoors in summer. For best results, soak the seeds in Growhelper for 12–24 hours before sowing.
