Spearmint makes a tasty tea and improves any jelly, sauce or fruit salad. It is also fairly easy to grow. In fact, planting and growing spearmint should not be a problem even for the newest gardener. Controlling the mint is where the problems arise, so it is best to grow spearmint in a pot and away from the rest of your garden. Getting started
Plants can be started outdoors as long as they are in partial sun and moist soil. Plant them at least 1 foot apart. The best spacing is about 3 metres apart. Remember that the plant is very invasive and will take over the rest of your garden unless heavily controlled.
